The first quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the Maps and Navigation category on the Android platform in Egypt. Below we provide an overview of the top 5 apps in this category, highlighting their performance in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides started strong with 1M downloads in the last week of December 2021, but experienced a steady decline, reaching just 140K by the last week of March 2022. Active users, however, showed a positive trend, increasing from 79K at the end of December to 153K by the end of March.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a relatively stable download rate, peaking at 113K in mid-February before tapering off to 79K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 296K in late December and maintaining a range between 292K and 335K throughout the quarter.

Swvl - Daily Bus Rides saw fluctuating download numbers, with a notable increase to 67K in mid-March. Active users mirrored this trend, peaking at 123K in early March before settling at 120K towards the end of the quarter.

Maps 3D - Offline Map experienced significant volatility in downloads, starting with a low 801 in mid-January, then surging to 86K in late February, and dropping to 2.7K by the end of March. Active users showed a similar pattern, peaking at 52K in late February before declining to 11.6K by the end of March.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, ranging from 20K to 36K weekly. Active users also remained steady, starting at 855K in late December and increasing to 1M by the end of March.
